"I'm pregnant, so when should I book my newborn portrait session?"
The best time to book your session is NOW! You can contact us at any time during your pregnancy to give us an estimated due date, we will then make a tentative booking. Once your baby arrives you can contact us to confirm your appointment, or to arrange a more suitable day for your session if your baby arrives early or late. During our busy seasons it can be difficult to get appointments at short notice, but we do keep a slot free each week for pre-booked appointments that may need to be moved.
“Can my newborn be photographed after 14 days?”
Of course, but the longer you wait, the more likely it is that your baby will not sleep through their session. Older babies will be less likely to fall into those perfect squishy baby poses that parents know and love. Even the best sleepers can be fussy at their sessions as they are being moved and stimulated more than normal. For success, the younger the better!
What to Expect at your Photosession
All of our newborn photography sessions are expertly executed inside a warm and relaxed atmosphere that is specifically set up for newborns and little ones. Your photographer Denise always works with your baby's safety as first priority, the beautiful images come second! Each session is uniquely styled with our ever-growing collection of outfits, props, wraps and bonnets, many of which Denise hand crochets for these photosessions.
You can relax and watch the whole session from our couch. There will be breaks throughout the session to feed, change and cuddle your baby which is why we allow 2-3 hours for a newborn session. This means there is no pressure and we have plenty of time to capture those beautiful images of your tiny little one. We encourage parents and siblings to join in towards the end of the session so that we can do some beautiful timeless family portraits of a time you can never capture again. Before you leave we will schedule a viewing appointment for you approximately two weeks later to come and choose your images.
